I was struggling too – both professionally and personally.
Professionally, I was watching more and more of my female patients come into my office frustrated, anxious, often on meds, trying different hormone approaches, with no clear direction.
It broke my heart. Because they continued to suffer. And if a patient of mine is suffering, a part of me suffers right along with them.
At the same time, my own midlife symptoms were piling up.
One day I was treating patients, dripping in sweat, trying to make educated medical decisions, and completely unable to remember the word for “door”!
Yes…door.
It’s pretty hard to inspire confidence when you can’t think of the word for the piece of wood that separates two rooms!
That was my turning point.
I needed solutions for all of us! And I was going to look under every rock until I found them.
So I started digging.
I studied. I researched. I asked questions.
What I discovered was that midlife symptoms are about much more than hormones alone.
Sure, our hormones matter. But so does our nervous system, our brain, our gut, our stress response, our sleep, and the countless ways these systems interact with one another.
